Buying a home can be an overwhelming process. From financing to negotiating to closing, there are a lot of moving pieces that can leave homebuyers bewildered.
As experienced real estate agents, we can help guide you through each step of the buying process, offering sound advice along the way. While we’re no Drew Brees, we like to think of our role as the quarterback on offense. Our job is to identify opportunities (for completions), be mindful of obstacles, and keep the goal line in sight for our buyers.
By working with a team of professional agents who knows the ins and outs of the real estate industry, you’ll not only end up with a great home, but we want you to walk away with a great experience.
Here are some of the key areas that our team of agents can help you with:
Getting pre-approved by a lender
By gathering some basic information about your income, savings, and debt, we will put you in touch with a reputable lender who will work to get you pre-approved. We love our local lenders because they are invested in the community as much as you and we are. The lender will then go over your financing options, what monthly payment amount you can afford, and what you can expect for down payment requirements and closing costs.
Choosing a home
For most buyers, choosing a home can be an emotional process. We will assist you in this process by offering objective information about each property you look at. From local community information like schools and zoning to home-specific details like condition and amenities, we will work tirelessly, searching both the MLS and our network of other active agents to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
Making an offer
Once you’ve found the home of your dreams, we will research recent comparable sales of similar homes in the area to help determine a fair selling price. Based on those comparable sales, as well as other factors like inspections and repairs, we will then help you structure an offer and negotiate to get the very best deal possible.
Once you are under contract to purchase a home, we will match you with a knowledgeable and experience local home inspector. Someone from our team will always be present during the inspections, whether it’s the initial whole-home inspection or any follow-ups that are needed such as HVAC or roof inspections.
Closing, or settlement, can be a complicated process. In our area, title companies are engaged to handle the title research and title insurance procurement process. We will coordinate the lender, title company and insurance agent or broker to ensure all information is delivered in a timely manner and there are no surprises on the day of closing.
We invite you to complete our “I’m Thinking of Buying” Form. It will help get the process started as soon as you’re ready.
We are also happy to set up an no-obligation phone call any time to go over the buying steps unique to your situation.
